Emotions Tips by Kriss Colville
Tip #1 – attitude: growing up is not to be feared. It’s fun! Don’t be jealous of others. If so, these feelings will continue to grow with you. To envy what others have, or how they look is a total waste of your time. Jealousy is a destructive emotion, and will only continue to grow stronger unless you do something about it. Put a stop to it at the beginning before it has time to take root.
Tip #2 – bad medicine: stay away from classmates who use profanity, and cause unnecessary attention to themselves. Profanity never makes any situation better. After you’ve spit out the vicious words, you still have the same situation in hand. It does not change anything. Take a deep breath, and allow yourself to have patience. You’ll feel better about your own personality, and come out a winner every time.
Tip #3 – good cheer: stay healthy in body and mind. Be cheerful to people. If you feel your temper rising, take slow, deep breaths. Talk to yourself, pray, or count to ten. Reassure yourself that this is an unhealthy emotion. You have control of your body and mind, and certainly your actions. A sour attitude and look on your face depresses not yourself, but those around you.
Tip #4 – self-esteem: – is how we feel about ourselves, and is based on whether or not we like ourselves. If you respect yourself, and are satisfied with who you are, then you can also respect others, and get along well with people.
Tip #5 – wintertime blues: Don’t let the wintertime blues get you down. So you’re snowed in, and don’t know what to do. If you’re a young girl, you’ll have plenty of toys to play with, but if you’re older, you can read some good books, start some crafts, or work a puzzle.
If you have a computer, you can surf the internet, or you might want to use this time to practice your writing. Write a short story, or a poem. Use your creative mind.
